Omg! The weather this week looks shitty, we have a freaking winter snow storm at Lake Placid,” says Vab.
“I bet our old backpack would need a rain fly as a friend,” says Anki.
“Else you know our clothes gonna get soaked”.
“Let’s get a new waterproof backpack for real.” Says Vab.
So, this is where and what we got:
Amazon is our lifeline for most things that we own. Our survival would be so tough without it.

- This backpack is more than sort of water-resistant. It really is waterproof
Who needs a water-resistant bag when we can have a waterproof dry bag? For the longest time ever in my life, I struggled with “What the f was difference between water resistant and water proof”.
So, here it is (based on my trials)
Water resistant means it shrugs water off the bag if its drizzling. That’s it. No more than that. If it pours or rains heavily, you are better off without them.
A good way to know is “Put some droplets over your bag, watch it run down like tears”.
This bag is really waterproof dry backpack. It’s so good that we have taken them everywhere
From Yellowstone National Park to White Sands National Monument to White Mountain Ski Resort to Florida Beaches to Waterfalls.
Because the weather can sometimes get crazy cray and you need more than a water resistant bag.
- This really is big!
With 30L as capacity, this really is a big dry bag and its great! We often use it as a carry on because this is so so good. It has got one inner pocket inside where we keep our passport or documents of importance or cell phones etc. And there are two side pockets where we keep our water bottles. It also has a chorded exterior where I often wrap my jackets or sometimes shoes or a tripod. Rest of the space is an open space.
Tips: Get Packing Cubes to segregate stuff inside the backpack than dumping everything in.
It is lightweight
Carrying a backpack can be a pain or a pleasure. Often for me, its pain when its heavy on my shoulders. This backpack is not evil and am surprised!
I have carried it biking or have hiked distances, this rarely hurts. Even though I might have it full to the rim of the backpack, I feel it evenly distributes weight and feels lightweight.
- It can be used multipurpose.
“I almost always do my grocery in these and I love it,” says Anki. “People think I am armed with a backpack going on a vacation but really! Sometimes you gotta do what you do”.
- It looks like new all the time!
We bought it last year and it looks just the same as when we got it. It has gone through so many places but still is sturdy, fresh and intact.
Verdict: For $36, it is totally worth it!
Scope of improvement: A laptop section inside maybe! Or a Velcro sectional that divides it into two for more organization.
